Country road

I wish I could show what it's like to walk on my country road. I could try to take some pictures, but I don't know if I could get the feeling of the road into a single frame.

If I walk north on the road, I only pass by three houses, and the third house is back so far I have no idea what it looks like. Mostly I look at a tree farm, woods, one plowed field, and a meadow. At the very end of the road, my neighbors have a huge plot of land, 360 acres or more, and after their place, it's state forest.

I love to walk the road at dusk. The way darkness comes on and obscures everything so gradually — I don't know how to explain how it makes me feel.

A few years ago I bought a painting by a young artist named Jamie Golub  from Michigan who exhibited her work online at EBSQ . She called herself The Raw Expressionist. I wish I had bought every painting she had. She painted the way I feel when I walk on my gravel road.

I tried to find out more about Jamie Golub, but I keep turning up dead ends online. If anyone knows her, or has heard of her, please tell her I'm looking for her —
