Blue
I checked out An Eye for Color by Olga Gutiérrez De La Roza from the library today. She examines works of art, photographs and objects for their color palettes, and then pulls out color swatches that identify the colors in the images. She says, "The images in this book, accompanied by my palettes, will change both the way you look at color and the way you use it."
It's true: the images she chose are striking because of their colors, but her words got me thinking, too. At the start of the blue chapter, she says, "Blue is the sky, and blue is the ocean. Blue is expansive and serene....Blue is a bruise, a berry, a husky's eye, a robin's egg."
